The V12 TDI for Le Mans is the first Audi diesel engine with an aluminum cylinder block. The other technology they use is not steel but a special grey cast iron.

Ok so unless your VW has a Audi Racing engine it's probably made of IRON not STEEL sorry for that, the rest still stands true.
