Aero correlation problems. Parts didn't work as intended so they removed em all together. Better to let the tea-tray function on its own than making it turbulent in hopes of energizing.
You're right, because this was before they found out about correlation issues but I'm still surprised why they'd remove it completely instead of synchronizing with the vortexes coming from the nose.
Maybe new driver.
