Don’t forget Alonso spent three miserable years battling with the Honda engine that is being bolted into the back of that Red Bull for next year and probably burned a few bridges with them by calling them out on so many occasions.

Other news, Lando looked pretty impressive this morning. Only a few tenths behind Magnussen & Stroll despite being on tyres two steps harder. Assume around one second quicker on the super soft tyres and he might have been mixing it with Perez, Sainz, Grosjean etc. up around 10th place.

What bothers me with Alonso story... Let's say he had a contract offer at 2011 (as he stated ), why did he reject them? at that time he was saying something like " Newey actually won the championship" and such and such... That was then perfect chance to demonstrate how weak or bad Vettel is then(as that was/is his opinion about him)..

Norris has a trouble free session, Vandoorne a lot of issues in FP1 and sidelined in FP2 so far.

I think he would be happier in the Red Bull than he is in the Mclaren. Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes, one of those 3 teams is your best shot at winning a championship. If you want to win, that's where you have to go.

What bothers me with Alonso story... Like I said on another thread, I think, he extended his initial Ferrari deal in 2011. It's possible the offer came after and maybe he didn't have an exit clause.

I think after this kind of form from the car it may be Alonso who leaves not Vandoorne for Ocon in Monza...he must be fed up whit this.

This would be a good opportunity to take extra components, since it appears they'll be starting at the back. Unfortunately Renault didn't bring an upgrade.

I had a day full of problems again today and it’s not been the best start to the weekend. The performance today was definitely not there.
Obviously they want to see how we compare, but I think first of all the team should give me a car that is able to run on track before we can be compared.

Overall today has proved to be a difficult day for us. This circuit with its long straights is really exposing one of our biggest weaknesses in straight-line speed.

It's becoming increasingly difficult for Stoffel to hide his frustrations. He's under a lot of pressure to perform, yet he's not being given a reliable car. Meanwhile, Lando appears to have at least, impressed today, in Fernando's car.
I feel for Stoffel, Ocon getting a seat fitting, Lando not looking shabby, all during his home Grand Prix.
