Off-topic: This should be in the Caption Competition thread: "Mercedes gives Ferrari a headache at their home GP."

I’d like to read the regulation which tells that this is disallowed.

I don't know if this is the one which they are using; (sporting regulations)
21.4 During the entire Event, no screen, cover or other obstruction which in any way obscures any
part of a car will be allowed at any time in the paddock, garages, pit lane or grid, unless it is
clear any such covers are needed solely for mechanical reasons, which could, for example,
include protecting against fire.

In addition to the above the following are specifically not permitted :

a) Engine, gearbox or radiator covers whilst engines are being changed or moved around
the garage.

b) Covers over spare wings when they are on a stand in the pit lane not being used.

c) Parts such as (but not limited to) spare floors, fuel rigs or tool trolleys may not be used
as an obstruction.

The following are permitted :

d) Covers which are placed over damaged cars or components.

e) A transparent tool tray, no more than 50mm deep, placed on top of the rear wing.

f) Warming or heat retaining covers for the engine and gearbox on the grid.

g) A rear wing cover designed specifically to protect a mechanic starting the car from fire.

h) Tyre heating blankets.

i) Covers over the tyre manufacturer’s code numbers (not the FIA bar code numbers).

j) A cover over the car in the parc fermé overnight.

k) A cover over the car in the pit lane or grid if it is raining.
If it is, I'm surprised they also do not clarify that personel blocking the view of the car is also not allowed.

well, If this is true (https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comme ... s_cameras/) Then it's a bit unfair they can't protect themselves

I am still not completely convinced it is not distraction. "****Look At This***" (just not lower down where there is something interesting and discrete).
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

It seems Kimi won't be in Ferrari anymore with Leclerc joining for 2019 & 2020 (article in Finnish).

Yes, news is spreading. It's a sad day.
I'm really gonna miss this Fin and his humor if he's leaving F1.
Maybe he's gonna find a seat elsewhere. Lets wait, hope and see.

I really doubt it sadly... Kimi only drives where he has a shot for the Championship. Can't see that happening with Sauber, Williams or STR.

Next up: Nascar?

While it is a shame, I'd actually prefer to see Kimi retire at the end of the season than to continue on in a lower team.

Its always nice when a sportsman retires close to, or at the top of their career versus fading into obscurity.

He still has phenomenal one lap pace, and I'll miss his no-bs attitude towards the constant regurgitated media circus that F1 so often resembles.

Forza Kimi #7

Absolutely. Gonna be sorely missed. His simple one-word responses seem so weird to most people but it really gives a homely feeling. I had this one professor, whom I emailed this rather lengthy explanation of why I was changing something and what the issues were in certain frameworks and what not ... loads of complications ... and his reply was just "OK." LOL! 😂😂😂

I hope he goes banzai and makes his own team for a year or something, that would be funny and pretty cool.

With Lando and Sainz going to McLaren, I guess we can't expect a return to McLaren for the foreseeable future. Perhaps it is time, having set the fastest lap in F1 history. Not a bad way to go at all.

While I’d love to see him in nascar again, a bigger coup would be for indycar to grab him (if he wants to even still race open wheel).

The time has come, I'd rather see him doing well in Ferrari for the remaining races and then quit F1 for good. His resume isn't that bad, the fastest lap, most fastest laps (44?) and 100 podium finishes.
2nd in WDC twice and one title.
I wish him the best whatever he chooses to do next!
