Lewis Hamilton Dominating F1

Post

I think Lewis Hamilton will dominate for the rest of the season and widen the gap in the championship. Lewis is the man. He is my favorite driver and has brought me even closer to the sport. His agresiveness on the track, his ability to pass, and his driving in the wet is very impressive.

I am 100% confident that he will win the championship and it should have been his second championship but he was cheated out of that last year.

He would have won more last year but his former teammate did not act like a champion and cried the entire time he was at Mclaren, but thats a whole other story.

Fun Prediction: Lewis Hamilton
10 Championships
101 Wins
75 Poles
75 Fastests laps

Im sorry for responding to this pointless trolling thread but I cannot resist.

How was he 'cheated' out of the title last year? Lewis threw the car into the kitty litter in China and Lewis flipped out at the start of brazil. It was his championship to lose, and he lost!

Yes he is very good but to rate him OVER Senna and Schumacher in only his second season is a bit, well LUDACRIS. He jumped right into a great car, wasting no time in a low budget team like Minardi or Sauber like the rest of the greats.

PLEASE CLOSE THE THREAD!

It's nice to cheer for and appreciate a wonderful, new talent in Formula One. But I've seen this all before. But there was no cheating by Ferrari last year. Although they sometimes played rough off the track, Lewis flat out threw his title chance away. The rookie cracked under the pressure and drama happening around him.
He will probably get a few WDC's, maybe even up there around six, seven, maybe eight. But even the best driver cannot win without a very good team and car behind him. Schumacher won seven, but he had a unprecedented superior team behind him 100%. Senna, who I consider better than Lewis, only garnered three titles. And remember, just like last year, winning a title doesn't come easy, or often.
Lewis Hamilton will most likely take his place amoung the greats in racing, but I don't worship him. I like him, and cheer for him. But he's very human, can and does make mistakes, and has a very long and difficult career ahead of him.

Let's put this thread in it's proper perspective. I've seen the same enthusiasm and adoration, cheering and proclamations of greatness from countless Schumacher fans. And today, we witness his influence. When Schumacher entered F1 in 1991, racing was considered a fringe sport in Germany. Roll the clock forward to today, and we see five German drivers racing in F1. That's his true legacy.
Just a few short years ago forums and message boards were swamped by Schuey fans, some more enthusiastic than knowledgeable. The same applies today to Lewis Hamilton.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

Lewis Hamilton is the best thing that happened to formula 1.. He attracts so much people to the sport now. He is the tiger woods of Formula 1. I never watch Golf unless Tiger is playing.

I was always an F1 fan but i was never excited about any single driver before. I was behind Schumacher and Montoya most of the time, but i didn't get emotional over them.
Schumacher was a good guy very much like Hamilton..but he was boring overall, even though he did something spectacular every now and then.

He will win 15 WDC's. ,y prediction.. not a single hickup after this year.

He is the KING!! better get used to it losers.. :D lol

These threads should result in Tomba's foot dominating some ones ass

On that note I am going back to dominating my beer

Last I checked leading by one of the smallest point margins ever by mid season was a long way from domination #-o

I couldn't resist either...

Lewis might dominate, he is planning on switching to Ferrari sometime in the future. So that does increase the chances doesn't it.

I'm kidding, we all know MS wouldn't like LH as a teammate when he makes a Formula One come back in a few years time. After all, he does want to return and show these new kids how to drive.

Now I understand how these irrelevant threads are created, just write about your daydreams, or not  .

I'm far from a Schumacher apologist - I admit being a fan, though - but his seemingly single-handed resurrection of Ferrari ranks far above anything Lewis Hamilton has done so far in his brief career.

It's (comparatively) easy to look like a champion when one slides right into a winning seat.

I think that today the competition (between the teams and drivers is higher) is higher. In the mid-90's you often saw that guys who made into the podium lapped everybody else. Today it is hardly 1-2 laps. Also, Schumacher was clearly faster then most drivers of his period once Senna died and before the new generation (Fernando, Kimi, JP) came into F1. Today there are not only fast and proven drivers like Fernando, Kimi but there are guys like Kubica, Rosberg and Sutil.
It won't be easy for Lewis to be beat MS statistics..

In 1990 Prost won three on the trot soundly beating Senna in Mexico, France and GB with Ferrari after leaving Mac. The wins were dominant. After that Prost made the comment that he saw no reason why he wouldn't sweep the remaining eight races. No one thought it was a wild claim as he crushed the opposition soundly. He won only one more race that year in Spain. And it wasn't long after this that he uttered his famously unforgivable phrase "The Ferrari handles like a truck."

The pendulum swings. Filipe finished 3rd with bad brakes (second if you discount Piquet's fluke). Ferrari still lead the constructors. Hungary traditionally favors Mac but there have been surprises there in the past like '06. Filipe or Kimi could easily win on merit and then everyone will be touting a Kimi resurgence etc. Kovi might sneak through. His GB pole would garner much in Hungary. I suspect that Lewis' car was set up more "wet" than Heikki in GB with a bit more clearance and softer settings.

Rob W is kind of right, but Hamilton leading poses three kind of discourses:

1. "He's the mother of superman and the father of Lex Luthor" cheers.

2. "Who knows, will he win? Last year he didn't."

3. "If Mr. Hamilton wins, Kimi sort of retires and Massa is 'not-The-Man', what will Ferrari do?"

Anyway, I cannot resist my urges to comment this:

I gladly receive those cheers, that britons can (finally!) make.

No matter how hard we remember the stupid things that fans say (me, "primus inter pares"), the truth is that the true fans of the sport are born when their favorite driver becomes dominant, as Dave points out when he talks about the legacy of Schumi. Even such a humble country like mine has enjoyed a couple of "extra" pilots after Montoya kind of succeded.

Enjoy it, guys, it happens once in a lifetime... if it finally happens. ;)

Now, to appeal directly to the "trollish aspect" of the posts: me, I like underdogs. Simple: I bet Massa will beat Hamilton. Hamilton drives like a withey. lol :D
