Once again they blew it in Omola, Kimi will start at the back again and probably will blow his engine out again.damaged exhaust valve seatrings???why are their engine parts is so defective????
Merc engines are so lousy i think mclaren should consider a payback clause in their contract with Merc for each engine failures.

I think a part of the problem is to do with a lot of changes going on at Merc. No doubt the loss of Paul Morgan was a huge change to Ilmor and his replacment was only there for a couple of years having now been made a scapegoat.
The arival of Werner Lerenz was a high level change that has not gone very smothly aparently although with his knowlage of the BMW engine I am surprised that the Merc is still very underpowered.
Last year I am told they lost the two of the engineers that specificly concentrated on the reliablity of the engine, Graham Langham and Patrick Morgan (Pauls son). The engine was fairly reliable last year, it certanly doesn't seem to be now.
I hope they can move on and sort it out soon.

if you read the Book prime movers about the making of Illmor one can only conclude ,the void Paul´s death left has not been filled yet.And maybe the spirit in the company has changed with his loss.
Of course we do not want to see them fail, even though the Merc. behaviour is not really inspiring to say the least.

What ???!!! Why didn't i heard this??? How could they lost these two important engineers???To who???or did they retired?
From my point of view, Ilmor should now keep their current management to have some continuity....that's why ferrari is so good.

If I'm not mistaken, previous Mercedes engine, til the 2005 season were made by Ilmor. Mercedes bought them and makes their own engines inhouse. Maybe they sorted out all the problems they had experienced, that's why they have such a competitive package.

I think you will find that following the death in an accident of one the founders of the company , daimler benz took full ownership of the mercedes engine side of the business , but ilmor continues as a separate company with the remaining original owners

apparently mercedes are in the process of building a huge new facility at brixworth , and transferring there any staff from germany who are involved , as the vast majority of personnel are ex ilmor and already in the UK
