I am surprised that these haven't been mentioned much this week after they appeared in testing.

I think they look awful on the Hondas a little better on the Mclaren but roll on next year....

What is cool this year is that the circumstances are set where it is simply easier to test everyone elses concepts instead of finding your own, since as a front running team, you have to maintain a high rate of development, and not hobble next year's opportunity.

Shark fin, cockpit wings, bridge wings, viking horns, sidepod shield vanes, wheel fairings...

All copied en masse, each with a slight variation, and set the aero variables into different equasions all trying to solve the drag problem that nature has created.

I have always preferred the more clean cut look of some of the older cars. If I had to pick one then I would have always thought the MP4/6 or MP4/7 would have been the nicest looking car for me from a purely aesthetic point of view that is.

However at Silvertone at the GP I got chance to see the latest McLaren up close and was gobsmacked. It was like a Jewel. In fact that doesnt doit justice. All the tiny aero details made it a work of art.

I was genuinley surprised how much I liked it having always preferred the more clean cut look of an older racing car.

If the Devils in the detail then Mclaren cars should have horns and ride on a carpet of flames.
