A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

bold prediction, It will look very similar, with incrementally smaller sidepods and slightly different barge board fronts

The regulations around the bargeboards area have changed a bit and it's not possible to have bargeboards that high anymore. Expect big changes in there

Does anyobody knows if the shape of the engine cover's shark fin is mandated or are all teams simply making maximum use of the allowed area?

IMHO, not only those squared fins look fugly, but having every car on the grid using the very same design is quite boring.

If the FIA wants to push mandatory designs, they should do it on parts that don't make cars look this similar.

The fin is not mandatory. Like you say, the teams are making use of the maximum area.

Good chance this will play in Mercedes’ hands because of their choice to use the flow under the wishbones to manage airflow instead what goes over them like the other top teams (with their very high wishbone design and small nose).

Seat fitting. Normal position of the top crash structure.
Assuming this is even part of the the real car and not some generic mockup. Probably the latter though.

And I can imagine they would call it WX, like iPhone. In Spain they would introduce an aero package it will be more like WXs

Are we even sure this car will be called "W10" and not "W010"?

Nothing yet, they are being very quiet this year, much like they were before 2014.

So, you draw parallels? :)
