Better than nothing...

Might pay Saintz's salary.
It's SAINZ #-o #-o #-o

also, estrella garcia is there because of Sainz,
not the other way around. He brings it with him to Mclaren.
It's Galicia...
Sorry couldn't resist!

Well said Sir 8) 8)

I dont see why people comment on spelling mistakes. Normally they are just typos anyway.

As long as people know what you mean, whats the problem.

If Alonso changes his mind one morning and decides he will drive afterall in 2020, who do you think will get dumped, Sainz or Norris?

Norris as he has less experience and unlikely any other team would offer him a drive so he would just have to suck it up and accept a reserve driver role with McLaren

They haven't even turned a wheel yet... :(
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Neither,

Alonso will go either back to Ferrari, go to Mercedes or to RedBull.
First and foremost because Mclaren will still be nowhere near a podium.

But, in all reality, Alonso will not return to F1.
He's too happy in other classes and he's winning there.

time to move on.

Getting a seat in any of those teams is quite frankly a pipe dream for him. No way any of these 3 teams need him.

+ it would be ultra hipocritical of him if he would jump back in the Mclaren (if they suddenly get the car decent enough), and force Norris or Sainz to step down in the proces (especially if them both would perform well enough to stay)
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

All of those teams had multiple chances to have Alonso drive for them in his prime. They all declined, as recently as this season. Yes, Alonso is a great driver but no team is waiting for him. The only big budget team that wants him, for the past 4 years is McLaren, partly because all the other world champions/race winners don't want to drive for them.

Zak has to sell a team of drivers now with a rookie of whom is not clear how good he actually is (his last season was not brilliant, compared to that other British rookie, Russel) and a driver who's been passed for good seat at RedBull and then had to leave Renault. No podiums between the two. Zak needs the aura of Alonso, the possibility for his return, the buzz around the paddock. He needs for sponsors to go into the McLaren hospitality and have the possibility Alonso is there having a cup of coffee. Expect a lot of (McLaren made) rumours about Alonso and a possible drive and/or test. Like with any news around McLaren about performance and incoming sponsors, you have to take it with a pinch of salt and wait until/if it really happens.

Alonsos pay can go towards developing the car, i doubt Mclaren will take him back.
However replying to a previous post'; i woudlnt count mclaren out from winning a race. I think they can build a race winning car if the renualt engine is close enough to the ferrari and mercedes and if the chassis is at least as good as the mercedes chassis.
I don't think there is anything stopping them from making a really good car that can sneak a win.
And i say this with the backdrop of what pirrelli are doing with the tyres.
The tyres to me were the main reasons why the big spending teams were so far ahead. They had more resources to actively analyze the tyres.
If the tyres are simpler to understand, which they will be next year, we will see the gap close further with between the midfield and the front.
For Sure!!
