Renault F1 R.S. 19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I'm talking about the lines of the car and the RS19 does not have good lines. The nose is wrong, the airbox is wrong, the sidepod isn't as cut in. Just saw the merc and that is the sort of thing I see lacking in the RS19. It is just fat all around and lacks the cut that the W10 has.
Could we get a little more constructive than "it's wrong, it's fat, it doesn't look like the W10/RB14" please?

I wonder why are not you designing F1 cars for any team! You can tell just by looking at a render that a concept will not work! Adrian Newey style! Amazing!

I don't agree with the ranting but, judging by the ''sophistication" of the external structures of this car, it is indeed a little underwhelming comparing to the W10 (even throwing at it all the bits missing from the render).

The parts in the yellow circle belong to the barge board foot plate on the left side of the car

Seems like this maybe not the real rear wing...

Where are the red light needed by the new regulation :

I would say that we have the whole bodywork of the RS19... but some details are missing : the definitive front/rear wing and the turning vanes underneath the nose section !
And maybe some fancy mirrors RB like... ok i'm dreaming too much

Interesing diffuser, totally different than 2018. I want to see this car on track, Renault could be a nicely surprise this year.

Bingo, i was right ! :D

According to an itw made by Chester for AutoHebdo, the rear wing and other parts are not those who will be running during the test sessions !

I don't think many teams are showing their full hand yet, the Merc and the Mclaren probably have the most actual testing/track spec parts on so far imo.

On those other 2 cars there are wow items. Things to talk about that just isn't there on the RS19. It is just bleh for a lack of a better word that isn't fat or obese or boring. The car should be spectacular and something that we could see Daniel and Nico maybe fighting Max with at some point but this car is not anywhere close to that.

no because it is an unimaginative fat design that is going to put Daniel and Nico at the back of the grid only in front of the williams and racing point cars and behind in car talent to the Toro Rosso from what I can see at the moment. Haas is favourite for fourth and the only thing that might be able to save Renault is Daniel and Nico.
You must be some sort of an aerodynamic genius for claiming such things without even any single testing km done. :)
Also, I'm pretty sure that there is much more which makes up the performance of a car other than it being tiny or not.

You guys are wasting a chance to earn a lot of money with those CFD eyes. I bet even Newey wouldn't be that good at telling how fast a car is just by looking at its renders.

Not kidding, critiquing a car based on some renders of an incomplete car, that hasn't even hit the track yet, is silly in the extreme!
