They were never really gone. Last year they already had lower T-wings, and with the reduction of rear downforce this year they are trying to recuperate whatever they can. T-wings are kind of low fruit really given their low aspect ratio.

Sainz hasn't posted a hotlap recently but it's consistently the fastest in the speed traps. Aero tests going on currently.

Took me a while to figure out that C2 is harder than C3!

C3 = what was called soft
C2 = what was called medium

Interesting strategy by Ferrari? I wonder what they’re testing, considering usually times like these come in the afternoon, or even towards the end of the first test. It’s very strange for them to be so far in front...

Either they’re doing the standard systems tests and when they turn the wick up they’ll be in the 1:15’s, or they’re chasing speed very early...?

I find it impressive that there really aren't many reliability issues thus far. Nothing can be said about relative performance, however the grid seems to have closed up. A 3.5 second difference is basically the difference between high and low fuel running.
