the great news is that Mclaren have sorted the Drag issues from last year, meaning they can load up more on the wings if needed and not get too penalised for it... so that is a big positive.

Critical Question. What are they gonna do now? Are they gonna dismantle the car to chek for damage and reassemble it or prepare it for another run and how much time will that take?

They will visually check for damage since the car did not hit the barrier, so I presume no big damage, but there might be a damage to the floor which could take time to change/fix. I we are lucky they will be out before 11 AM local

Seeing RIC's performance today, including top speeds, could it be that Renault have unleashed the PU only for their team today? They said they were running very conservative still with their new engine

Now NOR making quite good top speeds but lapping 2.5s slower from RIC, would that suggest a very heavy car lacking acceleration?

I think it is highly likely that both drivers are running to a pre-decided lap delta. I would imagine that there is some benefit to getting as much data as possible at fairly consistent speeds etc.

They have plenty of opportunities to chase outright laptime, but at the moment, data acquisition is key.

they should do the fast laps at the end of the day, track looks good, if they dont go into the 1:17´s late today they might be slower than i expected.. lets see

yap, toro rosso just did a 1:17:6 .....so yeah if Mclaren dont go into the 1:17s today, they are slower than expected, hope not!

they had 2 great days to setup the base performance, aero etc... today they should start to unlock speed with setup changes etc etc...
