Had it on FX entire time. Who could possibly listen to all that gibberish for so long
Man it was something else today. It's like each day they were ramping it up until it would just sound like techno music. Luckily I have been mostly keeping it playing on the second monitor and doing other work to keep busy.

Go to 7m16s on the youtube video. Set the playback speed to 0.25. Now watch the nose of the Ferrari just as the DRS is disabled (likely by a button). As the wing snaps back into position, the nose of the car lifts quite obviously. To me that means they either have something fun going on with their rear suspension, or it's set up very, very soft. Quite cool!GPR -A wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 19:33Got this video for a bit of an analysis! This was when Lewis almost crashed into Kubica when Lewis was on a flying lap on C3. Observe the STRAT dial! I believe the START setting is 6 or 7 (4m40 onwards). Below is also the Mercedes wheel picture.

It was his actual 16th lap of the day I believe not on those tyres. Although what was impressive was Bottas did two 1.18.3s on C2s - this was faster than Leclerc or anyone else went on C2 during the test, in fact if we assume the same fuel, engine mode, etc, this was net the best lap of the test and has gone a little unnoticed.qatmix wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 19:36It was on the Autosport live feed. They actually stated that Bottas posted the time on his 16th lap on a stint of running on the C2 tyresmotobaleno wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 17:22I would pack it up very easy but this would be the single most interesting stint of the test so far and I cannot find it anywhere...so please source.
Leclerc did a 1.18.4 when Hamilton did a 1.18.8, however Bottas did 1.18.3 later in the day, but of course we have no clue how much fuel they had. Bottas also did. 1.18.1 on C3, only 1 tenth behind Leclerc. Merc's runs on C4 and c5 weren't very impressive at all in comparison but these two runs from Bottas stand out as showing good potential. I'm really interested to see merc's front wing next week, I hope they have something a bit more radical in store! I have a feeling Merc and RB will bring something to surprise everyone. It cannot be a coincidence they have most conventional wings, they clearly didn't want to show everyone till last minute.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 23:08Ferrari did a 1.18.6 with C2 on day 3. Don't have info for day 4.
I'd say that Merc is ahead of Ferrari, Red Bull looks further back to me .

I feel like the front wing designs are a bit of red herring right now.tranquility2k4 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 23:17Leclerc did a 1.18.4 when Hamilton did a 1.18.8, however Bottas did 1.18.3 later in the day, but of course we have no clue how much fuel they had. This really isn't anything new for Merc, they always have a hell of a time getting the car dialed in early in the year, but as the year goes on it gets better and better. Ferrari seems good out of the box, but doesn't seem to improve as much. RBR is some place in the middle.zibby43 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2019, 23:26I feel like the front wing designs are a bit of red herring right now.
It appears Ferrari has made some gains with their underfloor and rear suspension (watching the way the car behaves in transition areas like corner entry/exit). There have been changes "under the skin" on that Ferrari which we can't see. I think Merc needs to explore these routes.
The way Bottas made it sound, is that the W10 has a lot of potential (kept improving each session/day), but they're still trying to arrive at a setup that makes the car easy to drive *and* quick.
The Ferrari seems on rails and quick out of the box.
