yes, true, just a shame, first 2 days of testing looked so good... but they are way behind the others. I was hoping for them to be 3rd or 4 best team this year by the looks of the first 2 days... now it seems they might not even make top 12....

I joined this forum as I thought it was a place for reasonable discussion. Yet every time I log in you see this kind of stuff from people who are seemingly clueless on what testing is. At least 50% of the posts seem to be from teenagers who heard from this guy going out with this girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavours last night that *insert random thought from head about McLaren here*, like the assumption about a blown turbo when the team said it was a loss of hyd pressure.

Half the posts on this thread are just the random dribbling's of people who genuinely think they know better than the team.

Is Mclaren having a problem with the new Renault spec engine? If I recall correctly Renault mentioned that they will bring the AUS spec to the 2nd test. So now after the lunch brake, they started a race sim, with Lando doing a 21 lap stint on C2's and then they did a pit stop were they switched to the C1's however, after that Lando did only 10 laps and returned to pits. Since then its been more than 90 minutes and the car is still in the pits

Exactly, especially this BrunoH. He seems to change his mind everytime something happens. It already says a lot if you actually expected McLaren to be the 3rd of 4th fastest teams based on the times of the first 2 days. This is a proces that will take years, there are no quick fixes. McLaren doesn't even has Key and Seidl and people are already talking about a lost year. Stop expecting so much ffs.

No need to panic. Reliability test successed! i assumed that is the first engine since day 1. it's ok.... after how many thousand of km divided by 350km = total of GP round.

McLaren finished a very, very lucky 6th last year, while having the 2nd slowest car. They put together the MCL34, without a recognized Technical Director, so more or less an ad-hoc Technical committee, with the aim of having a good baseline that will respond positively to upgrades and changes. It's not impossible for them to have the 4th fastest by season's end, if Key makes the impact we're all hoping for. But to start the year 3rd or 4th? That hope defies logic and the workings of F1.

On the face of it a poor time on the C5s there in p4. However, when you think they banged in a low 1.19 on C2s in test one, surely they can go quicker than that?

He is on track now whit new PU....turbo has failed on old one.
