Pace is starting to fall off, I'm wondering if Carlos only did a driver through after the first stint and didn't have a change of tires.
His times improved after the stop so I am guessing they changed the tires. In a real race they would change the tires so I see no reason not to do it in a race simulation.

Last year's race McLaren's race pace started in high 24's and ended in the 21's with a high 20 as his fastest lap.

Would be a good comparison although I'm sure the different weather conditions will confound that.

Also the cars can recover some battery energy while doing a pit stop.

I am probably reading too much into this, but I'd say that confirmation that Alonso will test MCL34 could be an indicator that McLaren/Alonso think the car is at least decent. I'm sure Alonso wouldn't be bothered if they felt they are 2 seconds off the pace, this way he can stay in the loop and entertain the idea of returning if the car looks fast enough for 2020.

Norris did a very impressive time on the C2 last week, does anyone remember what it was? When a journalist was trying to work his calculations to find the pecking order, he deemed the time an "anomaly" because they didn't repeat a time close to it in the for the remainder of the week.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

It was in the low 1:19s.

1:19:489 at the start of a 6-7 lap stint. - https://soymotor.com/articulos/analisis ... ase-960530

Soymotor releases times of all stints in their "articulos", only downside is that the article is usually released day after. It contains all the lap times, stints and tires. Not sure if it is 100% accurate but it is at least good enough.

Apparently Haas did a 1:19:234 on C2 on the same day. Go figure.

It was indeed, a quite low 1:19. Adjust it to C4 and it comes in around 1:18, a nine tenths difference on todays time.

Can anyone say Sainz fastest lap of the day on the C3 or harder tyre?

What time was the 1:18.878 set on?

Over 100 laps... 2 h to go.... This is some solid car.... They aren't making fools out of themselves anymore, it's been a long time.

Soymotor is the source (google translated).

"Sainz returns to the Pit-Lane after a five laps round with the C3 tire. The first of them, the 1'18 "878 that serves to lead the session."
