Key will have minimum impact on the MCL34... He will definitely have a say in the MCL35 though.

Probably this year will be more about procedures, communication, etc... Setting up a better base in side the team to build upon, but not much from a car perspective.

I'm a bit concerned about Carlos saying that they know others will turn up their engines tomorrow... Does that mean McLaren's were already turned up?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I doubt it, given the issues they have had in Australia and today.
I guess he might be suggesting a gap in Qualy modes between Renault, Merc and Ferrari.
Or that they are not quite willing to turn theirs up fully until they have full confidence in their own engine.

Mclaren have generally always run higher engine modes than most in FP, historically.

With the issues they have had and the extra parts used for Carlos Sainz, I'd be surprised if they unduly push the engine at this point. But who knows...

It would be great if both cars can get into Q3. Does anybody have the long runs timings?

Why would they do that? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to strain the engine in FP... What is there to gain really?

If my memory is right McLaren in 2016 also consistently ran well in FP 1/2 and gave me hope until fp3 and qualy...

I hope they do run well and we actually have proper racing this seasons.

I think they said it was the position of the mic as it didn't sound like that anywhere else.

I remember that because moments before I thought that if I had to sit and hear that noise in my helmet for 2 hours I'd drive off a cliff to make it stop.

How about the straight cut differential in BMW Super Tourer... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQESXRSg_AM

OMG .... has the blender broken or what was that
didn't Sainz said "I wish we had that Renault Engine 2 years ago" .... with that sound, I would purposely put the car in the gravel at the first corner and hoping it stays stuck there.
or do what RIC did in Australia... lose my FW as fast as i can

Just the way they go about getting tyre data and setup I guess. They've done it for quite a while.
