Yeah...we definitely need some sort of a standard semantics sticky for this forum.mclaren111 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 14:52M840TR wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 14:47What on Earth is "the Swan Necks"?mclaren111 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 14:37The area between the Swan Necks look "lifted" or higher than on the old RW...
If I'm not mistaken, that's what the 2 uprights in the middle of the RW are called...
Correct me if I'm wrong...
You can’t tell from those pictures, especially at the angle at which the were taken how much AoA they have or how draggy they can be... The wings actually look aggressive... We will see tomorrow I guessM840TR wrote:Those indeed are new brake ducts. But both the rear wings are huge! They're going to get annihilated on the straights with this.
That’s standard semantics in racing... When you have the uprights that hold the rear wing doing it from “the top” of the wing, they are called “Swan Necks”... Race cars use them to maximize the efficiency of the under side of the wing.M840TR wrote:Yeah...we definitely need some sort of a standard semantics sticky for this forum.mclaren111 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 14:52

Yes they do, it’s the common term for that type of wing supportM840TR wrote:But not around the F1 paddock.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 15:54That’s standard semantics in racing... Cool! McLaren have fitted a couple of tweeter speakers to the car. Maybe it's part of Liberty's move to make the cars sound better...
