in FP3 the sound of Gasly's car was really different compared to Max's yesterday. Is that the new PU?
I think the camera/micro are mounted different than VES car

Mark Hughes: "Honda is estimated as around 15bhp up on Renault."
Quite interesting that "upgrades" do not change the max power, but the ability to use more of it.
It will be the same story with Renault in Spain, "evo" engine for McLaren at least, to be able to run more power.

I still expect Honda and Renault to progress the same way and come close to Mercedes by the end of the year.

But we know that engines are not the key anymore, tyre usage is much more important

By the looks of the Leclerc's botched SC restart, Honda still has some power gap to make up.

And Redbull don't have chassis deficit to make up their car was losing 5 tenth to Mercedes in sector 3 in only 5 corners. What they are losing as a result of pu deficit is trivial compared to what they are losing on the chassis side

And what does this post contribute to this thread?
Right now the deficit is more on the chassis side than on Honda.

Temper the enthusiasm of expecting first win which previously was almost a given in Monaco. So just a dose of reality so this thread does not go down the Mclaren route of highs and lows.

Could we really expect early win's when a team is switching PU-supplier, even if it's a top team like RBR. I'm not sure.
Given the circumstances they are doing very, very well and that already resulted in 2 podiums on merit.

Yes, team-representatives said something different in terms of wins, but nowadays this could be just PR-talk.

I still think wins are possible this year. It's going to take a lot of effort and luck to close the gap, but if it happens Max has the speed and race craft to win.
