Is Sainz running the updated package in FP2? If he is not and Norris is then that's a little worrying since Norris is slower than Sainz at the moment. Hopefully the update delivered what the team was expecting.
They were comparing the old with the new package in FP1 and i saw Sainz with the new shark part in FP2 with the hard tyre we have to wait for tomorow to know the direction the team have followed
Bruh they already announced they're running the updated aero package on both cars now.

For me its clear the Haas has the 4 fastest car here
Haas will be quick in Q, and they will lack race pace for sure.

Sorry, I am unable to see the actual free practice right now. I was checking the live timings in the formula 1 app and got a bit worried.

lol both Mclarens are doing long runs on used softs atm and they are on lvl with Lecrec times on same laps used softs.
Both Mclarens seems way better on long runs than HAAS drivers that are also on softs.
SAI is doing constant laps at mid 1.23s he went the soft up to 19 laps, more than anyone..
very very impressive staff from Mclaren on soft long runs !!

Edit:
Mclarens and Lecrec switched to HARD. LEC started mid 1.22s and SAI high 1.22s . NOR cant follow SAI pace on hard.
Hard seems more hard to read.Even SAI was inconsistent. Lots of ppl went from soft to medium and others went from soft to hard.
Some medium runners where pretty fast also,on long runs, RIC in particular but MCL didnt used medium for long runs at all.

Haas was always going to be quick in qually trim, but for race pace it should be a lot closer. Haven't seen any race sim times yet though, so let's wait and see.

Which is not surprising given HAAS has been struggling with getting tyres working - with the amount of data you have from Barca that's not an issue here. Part of the reason Mclaren brought extra hard tyre was to use this weekend as an aero teest session because they know Haas and Torro Rosso should be relatively faster than they have been in the start of the season.

It's worth bearing in mind too that this update is designed as a new baseline to work from while they start bringing development parts much more often - so even things that are brand new like brake tins, rear brake winglets and the new internal engine covers will be changing again in a couple of races. Expect updates much more often.

Haas is always pretty good around here. I wouldn't worry to much about it. They also don't have the same pace in race.

Very good race pace at the end of the Practice 2 with the Hard tyres, consistent 22's highs and 23 very lows for both drivers, quicker than HAAS and very very near to RBR with mediums, quite impressive. Both drivers with the full update now.

Sainz did this (1:17:1) on a C4 tyre in testing and the softest compund for this weekend is C3 (half to 3/4th of a second difference?)

They now know the car better, the temperatures are better, plus they have upgrades on the car. I dont think the current time is representative of the true potential of the car.

That matches what we saw in testing. McLaren were relatively stronger on the harder tyres.
