Honda Engine was getting better by the end of 2017 itself and Alonso finished in points in the last three races. But considering the amount of retirements and the number of reliability issues they had to fix to get to that point, the damage was already done. It was an amicable split that benefitted both the parties. It's done, and there is no point in talking about the past.selvam_e2002 wrote: ↑13 May 2019, 06:40Quick question: Mclaren Used Honda engine till 2017 and there are no where. Now once they tie with RBR, suddenly they are fast and in number3 now and getting occasionally podium as well. How come it is possible for RBR. Is Alonso comment on GP2 engine was false?
Many points were lost in Bahrain and China.RS200E wrote: ↑13 May 2019, 03:472018 Constructor Standings After 5 Races: McLaren Renault

Actually worse than last year but...
At least we are 4th in the championship. Still to be seen if this car is actually a stable platform/concept to build on, but I doubt the performance drop off like last year will happen (hopefully).
The top 3 are untouchable.
Last year’s points is because of Alonso.RS200E wrote: ↑13 May 2019, 03:472018 Constructor Standings After 5 Races: McLaren Renault
