Performance on the brakes and good straight line speeds have been the two top attributes of the MCL34 so far this season. On the face of things that makes Canada a track made for this car so anything less than a decent double points finish will probably be a disappointment.

I’m glad we have 2 drivers that keep each other honest in terms of qualifying. It’s 3-3 qualifying head to head.
I wish we had a lead driver that was outright faster than our non Leclerc level F1 rookie ;)
Leclerc isn't a rookie.

yea hes also in a ferrari. theres no way to know how lando would do in a ferrari, or leclerc in the mclaren for that matter. i think they are probably closer than a lot of people think, and carlos is better than people give him credit for. lando has been solid and without any disaster type mistakes, which is exactly what mclaren needs.

Pretty well hopefully, it should suit the car and there's upgrades for Canada too.
Any idea of the scope of upgrades?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

He was last year, and was tremendous.

For LeClerc to be a rookie, he would not have ever driven for Alfa.

This is relevant to McLaren, I’m already looking forward to Canada.

2018 vs 2019:

Alonso: 1:12.110

Sainz: 1:11.417

Lack of front downforce clearly evident here... Only 0.693 increase...

Brake tins and rear winglets for certain - they're already made - don't know what else yet, but stuff will be shipping soon for Canada so might find out.

Rear winglets as in new parts for the RW? I reckon we might see Baku rear wing make a comeback.

Well, you have to take the new rules in consideration as well. It’s also a short track, so the difference will be smaller anyway.
