Formula One has seen yet another controversial result of a Grand Prix as Lewis Hamiton inherited the Canadian GP race win after a controversial 5s penalty for leader Sebastian Vettel. An infuriated Vettel was classified second, ahead of Leclerc in third.

Oh yes! Mercedes have been underdogs since the last 6 years. It seems to have worked that way over the last couple years.
Every team in pretty much the entire history of the sport has downplayed their own potential (except probably McLaren). Because it sounds better, creates less pressure and no one really likes to listen to arrogant winners. Why is it that Mercedes/Toto is being singled out as an anomaly? Not that what they are actually saying doesnt have merit - they could well end up NOT winning. It could be a repeat of Bahrain, a race they clearly werent as dominant or fastest. Who knows? Toto doesnt. Neither does Ferrari. Neither do we, yet. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Intelligent fans, knows the truth. Intelligent fans know the way Toto handles the media. When Intelligent fans know the reality, there is no question of feeling disrespected by Toto's downplaying the chances of his own team. I don't understand the reason for feeling disrespected or for being frustrated with Toto.

Indeed Friday practice, notably the second session, will give us the first real indication of how much of a step forward Mercedes have made. But it will also be the first time that Ferrari’s spec two power unit has really stretched its legs. Introduced in Spain and Monaco, the Prancing Horse will have gathered plenty of data and had the opportunity to prove reliability – but they will not yet have really demonstrated what the engine can do because the track characteristics of those circuits didn’t allow.
