I think that flow vis there is probably more to check the new rear floor section and the interaction with the new rear winglets/brake tins.

Red Bull are trying a similar vane inside the upper-outer corner of Gasly's diffuser, highlighted with clear yet annoying yellow hand. These shots pulled from the RB15 thread-

Actually, when you put the RB vs McL diffusers together, it's striking how identical they are. Down to really teeny details.

seem sainz is running a fw gurney, the first time this year for mclaren

seem they are testing two versions

seem they did try the "spoon" wing but almost all teams decided for high df rearwings, which is pretty incredible when comparing to previous years, maybe to aid rear tire wear this year
