I just can't believe that.

Maybe we should have a discussion in separate thread but in tuning torque map, you are limit to what the PU allows you to tune. Ideally you have smooth and flat torque curve and linear HP curve.

As much tweak and update different pieces of PU such as new version of turbo, new MGU-k, etc, every new pieces will probably require some tuning to make the package to have a certain characteristic.

It wouldn't surprise me certain engine has a characteristic that particular drivers will like better or some driver just adapt better to different PU character (Alonso comes to mind, who seem to be able to take anything to its max level).

In that sense, the drive-ability is real but I don't buy it that one is consistently better than the other after 5 years of developing. However as the platform is more stable and each update is an evolution of previous one could mean that the manufacture can keep consistent of the characteristic of the PU better. They are able to bring update or when new pieces are bolted on and tune much quicker. If you are constantly making major update and swapping out components more often, the character of the engine may not be as consistent.

Is Lando using a new wing? Is there any picture? Also is it the new wing from Spain or a completely new one?

Means he pushed the right pedal down a bit further than earlier.
No troubles with front end on the softs that I can see, the hard tyres look like they have some understeer though - but then it should be hotter come the race, so that may be deliberate setup. If so the car should just get faster from here.

Excellent.

Just see what he can do when he learns the gear shifts with his hands!

I think he hit the party mode by mistake :D
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Seems like lando can’t match carlos’ pace, although we don’t know everything about the run plan

He was only 0.3s down on Verstappen who had both set their initial times on the hard tyres so there was time to find, he managed to eek over a second of time switching onto the softs.

To be within half a second of the leaders is very exciting, Lando struggling a bit though 0.7s behind.
