I can't even begin to imagine the amount maths that went into working out the shape for this thing.

Ah OK, thanks, I'll look at some car pictures. Anyway, nice try Red Bull, but you're not even in the same league as the the Honda dumbo ears (on the RA108, terrible car just two years after the RA106 took the sole win for Honda's last F1 episode).

Last clear picture I found in this thread for comparison. Dated 9th may. Especially the central area under the crash structure seems heavily modified, so probably a lot is going on under the floor? The outside area Of diffuser looks quite similar.

hm...they don't use the ears in FP1.

New vane on the diffuser (yellow arrow). Note the aero rake (white arrow). Probes lead to thin tubes that measure pressure #techF1 (via @NicolasF1i)
