McLaren will be in a good place in 2021.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/14394 ... 175million
not so much - the article states that the current higher spenders are in the 200-250 mil range (of capped spending), makes one wonder what that other 100-200 millon the top 3 spend is
Drivers, senior management and engines. So yes it will help them massively. Only $175 million can be spend on the car and that's a figure McLaren is probably already close to, while the others have to scale back big time.
This will help, but it is not the answer.
Formula 1 is about getting around the rules, by hook or by crook. This will be no exception.

What will the punishment be, is it enough to stop people from cheating, how quick to react to those exploiting loopholes or cheating, like in UEFA's FFP. Can everything be tracked and the flow of money be proven to have been spent on the car. There will be a lot of intrigue and accusations in this era. Will some be punished more than others, or less (Ferrari?). Should be fun for that alone as people start to get up in arms about it.

True, but these things will come out eventually so at least we will get something to talk about.

wow, very promising stuff. By the way, something else, on the onboard of sainz, is it me or the p.u sounded closer to merc's one? Could be the updated p.u working properly.

From TeamStream: That's a pretty good session to end practice with. Two hours now until Canadian Grand Prix qualifying. Data to analyse over the lunch break but the programme completed in good order. We'll leave the live commentary there and pick it up at 1330 local / 1830 BST / 1930 CEST.

Hopefully all is going according to plan. Perhaps FP3 was more about Lando
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Yeah, I don't think Sainz managed to get a clean lap in, was hampered by traffic and backing up quite a lot. Sainz has a had a good 3-4 tenths on Norris all weekend, if we apply that (which we shouldn't assume!) then he's looking good for heading the midfield battle.

It's going to be super tight again though! Some scruffy laps and they could miss Q3 quite easily. Fingers crossed!

McLaren seem to have the measure of their midfield rivals Haas, Toro Rosso and obviously Racing Point, Renault seem there or there abouts though.

I’d be surprised if Sainz avoids a 3 place penalty for impeding Albon which could put dampener on a good result.
