If VET is able to pull 2 tenths worth of gap in S3 every lap, it's going to be hard to overtake.siskue2005 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:39What are you talking about?
This is not Monaco, people can actually overtake here... how can Vettel drive off in to distance with the poor race pace than the mercs?
And if they pit LEC too soon he'll be stuck behind BOT, so then Merc won't have to pit HAM early. Basically it will mostly be down to the start.siskue2005 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 21:59in the race with no DRS but lewis having DRS in 3 parts of the track will offset the advantage
moreover the tyre degradation on ferrari were not good, so they could be overtaken, especially in a track like this
No way Leclerc will clear Bottas to pit and come out in front of him, unless Bottas has issues. As for your statement the page before, If Leclerc pits and forces Lewis to pit, Lewis will most probably undercut Vettel by doing this. If they pit on lap 25 (random lap) by that point i'd expect Hamilton to be a few seconds behind Seb, and Leclerc to be 5-10 seconds behind Hamilton. If Hamilton pits before Vettel, to 'cover' Leclerc as you say, the chances are Lewis will ubdercut Seb.Wynters wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:45Assuming nothing major happens on the first lap to shake things up, the key for Ferrari will be to try and get Bottas out of Leclerc's pit window. I suspect it'll be down to how quickly Bottas can get past Ricciardo.
Although, on the topic of the first lap, Leclerc is on the clean side of the grid and both 4th and 5th are on the grippier rubber.

You do realize the 3 tenths Vettel pulled is also due to DRS...and while Vettel leads without it, Lewis has DRS in 3 parts of the track and he keeps to 1 to 2 sec behind Vettel easily like monza last year....and undercuts himzibby43 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:50If VET is able to pull 2 tenths worth of gap in S3 every lap, it's going to be hard to overtake.siskue2005 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:39What are you talking about?

Race pace can't be looked at in a vacuum, you have to take into account track position and the strategy. Lewis has to worry about trying to attack VET and protect against LEC whilst Bottas is trying to make up places behind him.
Renault very good in all the speed trapsCriXus wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:47Best Sector Times

It's certainly a possibility. It depends how confident Ferrari are when it comes to building an offset and then passing Hamilton in the final few laps. It'll also be interesting to see if Leclerc can jump Hamilton either during or directly after the pitstop window. And, of course, Bottas' pace will be important. I don't recall him having many gritty comeback drives, he tends to just vanish if he isn't right up at the front. He'll probably be able to stay in touch with the top 3 though.NathanOlder wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:53No way Leclerc will clear Bottas to pit and come out in front of him, unless Bottas has issues. If both cars were exactly even in straight line speed and who was faster was entirely down to DRS then even if Hamilton was able to get past Vettel, Vettel would then have DRS on the next lap while Hamilton woulnd't and thus they would simply trade places each lap.siskue2005 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2019, 22:58You do realize the 3 tenths Vettel pulled is also due to DRS...and while Vettel leads without it, Lewis has DRS in 3 parts of the track and he keeps to 1 to 2 sec behind Vettel easily like monza last year....and undercuts him
Race pace cannot be looked in a vaccum sure but if the lead car doesn't have tyre advantage then it will be like monza 2018! And bottas would easily overtake the redbull and Renault and catch Upto leclerc in 3 or 4 laps....and it is race on from there
