Thank you 😀 gonna be at beckettes grandstand! I’ll let you know how the car handles 😂
Great, I’m not jealous at all! 🤥😉

I’m a bit surprised to see the low downforce rear wing back on...
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Hülkenberg believes that the new asphalt will turn the basic conditions completely upside down. "In recent years, the asphalt was pretty wavy here. We had to drive at maximum downforce in 2018 to keep the cars on the track. This has thrown us back badly, because we last year still had a large power deficit. Now we are top with the engine. And the track looks much smoother. We'll go to the first practice with less downforce right now. "

Looks like nothing new then, at least to the naked eye....

It seems to me or the engine cover has become smaller?

Austria was an outlier in that regard, so yes.

I’m almost certain the rear wing is different to the previous “spoon” wings used earlier in the season but can’t put my finger on exactly what it is that’s new (it could just be that the spoon elements have been fitted to the standard end plates or something which is confusing me!).

I don't think the gurney was on the original wing, but I can't see much else different.

Sainz: "The car will be similar to the one in Austria, but with some improvement, we do not like to say that we bring something new in a particular circuit, we carry something in every race, when we try it we will know how much it can help us".

The technicians continue their development program. Team Principal Andreas Seidl confirms: “We have many new parts from front to rear, which we will test on both cars on Friday."

tom stallard on mclaren

"So, job one is to find out what the circuit is like. We’ll do this while conducting a fairly normal FP1 programme concentrating on aerodynamic testing. There’s a lot of new parts to test this weekend – lots of little bits and pieces in Silverstone that we’ll distribute across Carlos and Lando’s cars."

We’ve had Silverstone follow Austria for a couple of years, and the basic set-up across the two circuits is very similar. You can push the roll-stiffness up a bit more for Silverstone normally, because there are even more high speed corners, plus the high speed changes of direction as well. Otherwise not many things change.

The biggest difference is the downforce level. In Austria we ran our big rear wing – at Silverstone we’ll be experimenting with the downforce levels a bit more on Friday.

Carlos boxes again and has his nosebox changed in the pitbox again. He's back-to-back testing a couple of different front wings – one lap with each with different set-ups on the car each time.

Flo-vis on Carlos' new wing. That's another complication with the breeze – very difficult to spray the wing outside the garage and not get the flo-vis oil over everything except the wing.
