McLaren has unveiled its 2019 Formula One race car, named MCL34. As with the 2018 car, the covers were taken off at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK.
A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
They haven't really got rid of it, they've just brought the multi-foil turning board forward and made it more extreme to do the same job - you can see the shape has changed right from front to rear. The leading edge of the floor seems to have changed slightly too so that may be the new floor already.
They're definately turning the flow out much earlier and more aggressively behind the front wheels now.

When the last bargeboard update was added and flowvis pictures was there, someone in here mentioned there was still som gains to be had as there was some separation, seem that person was spot on as itd exactly that area that has changed now
Maybe this is the heavier modular version of the floor where barge boards can be swapped rapidly. And a fixed, lighter version will be used for Germany?
