I don't think the RB15 is being pushed, no way he's slower than Gasly. I think the true gap is less than .8, .5 seems more realistic, but may even out over a race stint.

Could it be that a 2 stop will actually work?

Hamilton more than 2 seconds faster than both Ferraris in the long runs. :)
Ferrari seems to be destroying their front tires. I was watching Lewis's and Charles's on-boards during the long runs and Charles's front looked really bad compared to Lewis's. We don't know fuel loads of course but one would think they would at-least be representative.
You were right. Binotto confirmed that yesterday. They destroyed the tyres on one lap pace, too - in S3 they were gone already, hence their incompetitive times (despite reportedly being in higher engine modes).
I wonder, if they found a solution overnight. Though, I'm not so optimistic.

Is there actually much to read into practice? I got the impression the track was so green that we never got any representation of what can be expected on Sunday.

A lot more rubber will be laid down by then and assuming there is no rain, track condition will be very different on Sunday afternoon.

How were the Red Bulls managing tyres on long runs?

I don't think this means anything. In Austria, Mercedes had even bigger advantage on long runs but it turned out completely differently.

What I don’t understand if that this isn’t a new situation. Austria was a complete outlier as the temps were miles out of the norm yet some pointed to it as proof that Ferrari had made huge steps on Mercedes.

Put Austria back in the normal temp ranges and it’s possible that Mercedes are right back at the front.
It is also downforce. Silverstone is a high downforce track with fast corners. The Mercedes excels this year in fast corners with downforce high.

There is no temperature threat like there was in Austria. Merc would have done great at Austria if it hadn't been so hot that prompted their bodywork to be opened up so much.

in Austria both were setting a more or less equal pace on Friday, on the mediums Ferrari was even quicker. So no, it was in no way similar to yesterday

In FP3 Leclerc was 5 hundred faster than Lewis, both on S tyres, setting his fastest time on the second lap of a 5 laps stint and some 15 min. before him...

In contrast, Lewis set his fastest lap on the 9th lap of the similar 9 laps stint ...

Of course, without knowing PU mode and fuel levels, with fuel time corrections, it seems that Merc has some 10kg more fuel hence they are approx. 4 tenths ahead in qualy trim, taking into account that the track evolution couldn`t swing too much 15 mins. later ...

I don't think we can really tell anything from fp3. It looks like the track is still very green and thus everyone was traction limited.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the track gets more rubbered in, and as it gets warmer!

Again, Ferrari has zero problem in high speed corners, but whenever the cornering speed drops below 250km/h, it loses to Mercedes.

Watching the onboards posted here from Leclerc and Bottas it seems that Leclerc's steering input is a lot more than Bottas's. I believe this is caused by the Ferrari understeering so the driver is forced to put more steering input which leads to higher tyre wear. Correct me if i am wrong.
