anyone else seen the onboard of bottas, when he overtook lewis? hes right hand pressing a switch that looked like he got an extra very significant boost of power.. i mean a lot! did it out of the turn and mid straight for the overtake.
the hell was that? it seems to be behind the steering wheel
min 1:54 and then again around 1:59/ 2 min mark you can hear the engine picking up!

Any info regarding German GP update?

No additional details yet. Last info. I saw was from AMuS quoting a Merc engineer, who explained that the update would be visually obvious to everyone.

And then asking what the lap time was and how much engine he had available to try for the fastest lap, is nice to see driver's thinking and not just following orders.

For sure. I think Lewis has stepped up this part of his game quite a bit in the past few seasons. He's constantly adding tools to his toolbox and not just relying on his inherent pace/talent.

On a related note, a lot of the casual fans that you see on social media that complain that Lewis whines or moans too much don't realize that 1) FOM cherry picks the team radio that they broadcast and 2) the drivers and engineers talk continuously over the course of a race and the audience hears but a fraction of those messages.

It was the overtake button. You can see when he's using it because of the blue leds.

Just better hope the track elevation doesn't change from 335 ft above sea level to 2,170 ft above sea level between now and then. And change to a 79% full throttle lap.

Short those things, it could be similar to France in terms of on-track temperatures.

Where Are you located State side? We are well above 100 F today also in Illinois......
