McLaren has unveiled its 2019 Formula One race car, named MCL34. As with the 2018 car, the covers were taken off at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK.

Looks like the inerter on the right and preload adjustment for the spring on the left - be interesting to see if they actually use that tommorow as it looks more like a unit used for quick setup changes before building up a lighter one with fixed settings as is usually used.
Did I fail to take notice of the car squatting or are these illustrated estimations inaccurate? I thought every car reduced cooling in anticipation of the drastic temperature drop.
"I could not overtake them at the re-starts because we had problems warming up the tires with our small rear wing. And then I still had a used set of tires in the last stint. Stroll and Kvyat had fresh tires." They were already eliminated in Q2. The WDC 7th placed was in front of Alexander Albon with a lead of only 0.4 seconds.

We really can't tell. Every measurement in an unreferenced photograph is inaccurate. I just scaled to match some dimensions. Mainly the exhaust pipe and the rear wing length. It could be that the upper part of the open structure is lower. Or it could be perspective. Feel free to interpret it.
Not that technical but still interesting is just after 7:15 on the McLaren inboxed video from Hockenheim. During the debrief it was stated that due to it being wet there was probably no pitot data. Water gets into the pitot tube and can block it.
The pitot tube is the little tube sticking up on the top front of the car above and forward of the drivers legs. Every car uses it. It reads the ram air pressure as the car moves. It is most useful for reading a cars speed through the air as opposed to over the ground. This is more accurate for predicting downforce numbers. Aircraft use pitot tubes to measure their airspeed however on aircraft they are usually larger so have a higher tolerance for water ingestion. They also use heaters that boils off the water that can get trapped inside.

Yes, during race weekend KMag said that their attempt to run two setups wouldn't be useful again because of all the rain "messing with the sensors"
