Still no sign of POU but look at the massive size of the rear wing put into perspective by the mechanic's arm.

I think it's just a design the aero guys seem to have a penchant for. Mcl32 had an identical t-wing as well. Appears to be focused on improving airflow towards the center instead of the corners of the wing unlike others.

McLaren has a new rear wing and a modified floor in their luggage. Both with the aim to increase downforce on slow tracks.
There's good news on the engine front: Lando Norris' engine has survived. A part in the periphery of the Renault engine broke down

What happened to McLaren’s magical .5s/lap floor? Was that ever put on the car, or is that the one coming this weekend per AMuS?

There was never a .5s floor, it was rumoured a few races ago. AFAIK there's a new floor in development that will work with the POU suspension.

What makes it rudimentary? Can your eyes see the CFD simulation just looking at the picture? Are you neo!!

Seriously you have no idea how effective that t wing is going to be Vs how effective it could be. They could of been developing that for the past 6 months or the past 2 weeks.

Appreciate that's your opinion but this is a thread about technical aspect of the car not an opinion piece. See this way too much on here.

The new Silverstone floor was comprised of changes to the tea-tray which have been running since then. Other changes included bargeboard and minor fw revisions. It was thought to be around 0.5 sec in addition to all those upgrades including the new Renault PU. It’s possible it indeed was several tenths (never thought it’d more than 0.3) but the British GP was very volatile in terms of track changes since Q2 which compromised car balance and we never saw their true pace after Q1. Hockenheim never really suited the car with its front limited corners and to be P7 only 0.2-0.3 behind Kimi in P5 and hundredths behind Grosjean in P6 with the monstrous Ferrari PUs isn’t bad at all; suggests they gained enough in the high speed corners to compensate for the low-speed deficit. To put into perspective how much the car is front limited, in Austria where they dominated the midfield the car was around 10+kph slower in some S2 corners even compared to Haas. So my guess is it probably worked, we just haven’t noticed it as much.

I didn’t say the T-Wing is rudimentary, I said it LOOKS rudimentary, in comparison to some of the other teams, which is not an opinion, just an observation, I didn’t speculate on it’s effectiveness or predict it’s performance. They haven’t used a T-Wing this season, so it’s essentially version 1 for the team. A lot of teams have brought different variations from what they have been using, which points to development. But apologies to you, if you designed it, didn’t mean to belittle your work.
