Norris' longrun on softs looked pretty good. Around half a second quicker than Ricciardo and Magnussen per lap (over a 7 lap average)

So does that mean that these fast times are misleading?

It’s very hard to make an assessment, between the problems in the cars during the practice sessions and the rain, the actual pace of the car is an unknown and they probably didn’t had much chance to validate any improvements on the setup from FP1 to FP2.

Been said that, this is a race when it was expected that the team would suffer more than others due to the layout... FP3 should give us a better understanding.

Long runs don't mean much here normally, you can't pass.

well, FP1 results are usually heavily influenced by power modes, different programs, early setup issues and so on anyway. So those long runs can give an idea of the pace - same as the actual result.

Undercut, overcut?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

4 tenths clear of the midfield in FP3.
It looks like this car doesn't have many weaknesses now.

Lando is well hooked up around here this weekend! Very impressive. If he can repeat that through qually it would be easily best of the rest. Sainz a massive half a second back though, which puts him on par with the others, but I'm sure he has plenty in reserve though to match Lando.

Going to be an exciting qually up front too, looking forward to it!

That lap looked effortless. Very calm car behaviour but very fast. Looks like the balance is on point

I haven't seen FP3 but from what I read we should be able to get the 7th and 8th comfortably. Let's hope it will be repeated in Qualifications.

It was a tricky FP3 for everyone last year but 1st place in FP3 this year is only a tenth faster than FP3 last year.

So depending on your perspective, we are either in a good position having made a lot of ground up compared to last year, or everyone is sandbagging more apart from us!
