McLaren MCL34

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I don't know the bulge was quite noticeable on Carlos' car on TV as well and all images of Norris I could find doesn't have it.

As far that i know these slits in the boomerang are for legality reasons, but would it be really that bad to make the fins on the floor these 1mm longer?

If the lower devices were placed so there was no gap, you run the risk of them overlapping. At that point, they're illegal without slits of their own. Safer to have them slightly apart and then form the slits on a higher up part that is probably easier to form this way.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

I'm confused. Are we running the POU suspension or not? looks like we are?

Yes, the POU offset is finally being run. Seems to be working well too!

Yeah, I think it's just refinements and variations. You can tell from the material surrounding the offset (looks rubbery) that it should deform around the joint inside. I'm sure they will keep testing more radical concepts of it with a view to next year too. Next year's car could be very adventurous judging by their comments recently.
