Is Jordan going under?

Post

A brazilian site has stated a press release from Gallaher International (owner of Benson & Hedges) that states that the contract will end after the Brazilian GP! Leaving Jordan with no major sponsor and no engine!

To make matters even worse Jordan has to pay the registration fee for the 2005 championship....$500000US....(half a million...if someone is mixing up the zeros  )....Eddie is trying to convince the FIA in not making them pay!

So in Jordan situation....with no engines or title sponsor.....Eddie is thinking of taking a year off...to reorganize!

My question is....where is Jordan going to get the money to pay salaries for the year?...if they're not racing....cause no one is going to sponsor them!?

Another thing....with a 8 million dollar reduction in their budget makes them with a smaller budget then Minardi!....so more people probably will lose their jobs!

Obviously solving the whole Bernie Ecclestone and banks thing would help Jordan. They might be there next year but with reduced racing capabilities. They could probably vy for a family-friendly title sponsor like Lucky Charms or Caterpiller, I don't know.

Then again Bernie Ecclestone needs to be shot for that to happen

Getting the money for salaries shouldnt be such a big deal I guess, finding a head sponsor is. The want who wnat a seat in that jordan (maybe verstappen) will have to pay big money, which they will use to pay their employees. Hopefully noy another team disappears, it would be a shame.
David Coulthard is the best !!!!!

The salaries are only a problem if Jordan decides to that a years sabatical.....if they don't race no one is going to want to sponsor them...and with no sponsors where would they get the money?

In case they do race it will mean they have the money! Jordan in any case has around 4 to 5 million/year in salaries.....so if they don't race in 2005 how are they going to pay.....even reducing the staff probably they'll still have between 2 and 3 million...which is still a whole lot of money!

Toyota might supply Jordan.....

Team president John Howett told Reuters on Friday that Toyota may now be 'definitely prepared' to supply a customer engine programme to a smaller team in 2005.
