Yeah, let's start shitting on the most dominant engine since 2014. The big difference is that Mercedes actually fixes things instead of Renault: "Oops, we thought we had fixed the problem, but we clearly didn't".Jackles-UK wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 16:56Let’s be honest, Mercedes have had three engines go ping this weekend so it’s not exclusively a Renault problem.
Given the message on Lando’s screen (ANTI STALL - RECOVERING CLUTCH) I’d guess on either failed engine electrics or the dreaded hydraulic gremlins again ...
Just saw the onboard of the start, the car didn't have power getting off and locked the rears downshifting into turn one on the first lap.
I don't see that happening until 2021 at the very least and even then something drastic has to happen. Mclaren wants stability at the moment and while DNFs don't help achieve that, a new engine partner is a whole different ball game.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 16:53So what now? Could we go back to Mercedes? Won't that cost us in making a different car since their engine is completely different? What about the status with the Mercedes. Will we be customer or try to get some equal work status?
Still though I am not afraid. Mclaren is leagues faster than the other midfielders. We are destroying them. The luck the others have is gonna run out at some point.
Can you kindly share the video?martinbeiker wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 16:59Just saw the onboard of the start, the car didn't have power getting off and locked the rears downshifting into turn one on the first lap.
Carlos said on TV that the battery emptied and wasn't recharging.

He put Perez on 17 seconds.M840TR wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 17:12I'd personally recommend exercising a bit of caution regarding speculation on the car's race pace. They had massive help from strategy today by being in clear air all race and coming out ahead much later in the race than others. Perez with his worn C2s was keeping Lando honest in P6; even if we factor in the Mclaren managing pace at that point, that's still worth considering.
It started with 16.2.RonDennis wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 17:13He put Perez on 17 seconds.M840TR wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 17:12I'd personally recommend exercising a bit of caution regarding speculation on the car's race pace. I know it's probable but the others were stuck behind slow cars all race; it was the Haas at first and those on long stints such as Kvyat etc later. So let's wait for some credible reports.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 17:16Sorry to burst the bubble but Lando was destroying them completely today to the point that he did a pit stop and still managed to get back 5th place. You can't dominate more than that. He reached 20 at some point and at then he decided to just control the pace.
