This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Renault needs to increase its budget if they want to improve of engine side.you want a Mercedes engine they are not reliable either the have two engine blown out just this weekend.the only manufacturer with impeccable reliability ironically is Honda
Mercedes have consistently been reliable though; more so than Renault at least. It is ironic that Honda are very reliable. The only two issues I can think of from Honda have been an exhaust sensor issue and power delivery issues.
Not sure where people got Carlos issue was hydraulic, he said himself after the race (for spanish TV) his battery depleted on formation lap and didn´t recharge
At this point none can know what was the problem, it may be ERS, it may be an intallation issue, not even McLaren knows yet
About pace, it was awesome. Yes Norris was in clean air, but also his chaser and even Bottas in front of him but even so Norris was confortably 5th the whole race until his car stopped
It's a shame than Renault is bad on reliability.
I would say more, they are bad in quality, I'm suspecting their quality check process aren't good something like this.
Performance wise, on all the engine track (Canada, SPA) we can see that the engine is OK
Anyway, lots of point lose here, but as always McLaren clear 4th Force of the grid
Seidl confirmed that in both cases, the problems were only associated with SU. Renault owe us a race.
The cause of the gatherings in both cases, according to Seidl, were Renault engines.
“One of the pilots did not manage to start at all. However, this is a problem with Renault engines, not our flaw.
They are really trying very hard to increase the power of the engines throughout the season and we are happy about it. But putting a new motor, getting a fine for it and eventually getting off due to its breakdown is a shame. However, we have an open relationship and we can work together to find a reason, ”said the head of the McLaren team.
Seidl also recalled that Sainz had an updated engine, while Norris had an old one, but with a significant residual resource: “We don’t know what it is yet, but apparently the reason is not in the versions of the engines.”
Renault seems to be pushing engine development too hard. They are failing their championship goals so they are pushing the limits on all fields. This means McLaren is in for a ride. Why would Renault work on reliability if their car can't reach top 10 on pace.
The only thing without a flaw from Renault PU is the TC, as Borgwarner is very capable. Yhe H, K, ICE dunno where they got the material or actually they build all in house in Viry, so maybe they are just too ambitious without throwing enough resources as they also need to fund the works team. Hopefully the part received is not a refurbished one as in case with STR couple of years ago

Renault problem is lack of resources .. Prost said it few months a go, they are not gonna pour money in their f1 project
its a company policy.
so they can be very reliable but they will lack the last few ponies or vice versa have a very good power but lack the last bit of reliability.

Pff what a complete mess. I really hope Eddie Jordan is right for once.

They said it during the race, I guess before they spoke to Carlos...
Given they changed the ERS-K between Quali and the Race.....
