McLaren out on used tire, probably one from the aborted runs in Q2/Q1. Should be good.

Mercedes is probably out on used tires? I doubt they are a second off the pace.

the first try wasn't that good. Norris was very slow compared to his q2 try. The only thing I care is to cross the finish line tomorrow, ahead of the Renault. At least finish amyway...

Most of them on used tyres there to get a banker in. High risk of someone putting it in the wall at the end.

Used tyres though...
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

McLaren always runs their first Q3 lap on used tires. This is why they were slower. Renault was on used tires as well, and I expect maybe Mercedes.

Reason for this is because McLaren uses new tires to get into Q3, so they cannot run two runs on new tires in Q3. Big teams can save one set of tires in Q1 or Q2 and then run both runs on new tires in Q3.

Argh, mistake from Lando there cost him. Needs a good start tomorrow to get by the Renaults.

Sainz: I ran out of power on the exit of the last chicane!

Shame about Norris, not sure what happened, but if he repeated his Q2 lap he'd be ahead of Sainz.

Not sure why you say that. If we has 3 seconds faster he would have gotten poll! But he wasn't was he ...

But the Q2 lap is a time that we know he was capable of doing

I think the implication here is that there was a lot more pace in the car than showed today. If I recall correctly, Lando's Q2 lap was a 1:37:5 which means he could've easily gotten P7 or even have potentially out-qualified Albon for P6. That's good speed.

A shame for Lando in his final run... But, the silver lining is that once again Mclaren was the 4th fastest team (and by a good margin)... This spells well for what is to come.

Now, like always, let’s hope for clean getaways tomorrow... Wishing Lando would have stayed ahead of both Renaults after qualifying... Strategy will be tricky tomorrow... The undercut is hard since you have to find that gap when coming back from the pits... Going long is also a tough option when starting on Softs and everyone else in the midfield probably on Mediums... It will be an interesting start to the race tomorrow.

It will be difficult to make Renaults back at the start. Therefore we would have been on the 4th row... ajj

Norris should try to hit both Renault’s.

I think it takes away from the drivers that executed in Q3.
