Redbul strategy to design and develop car around one driver only does not pay in the end. First because you risk to miss alternative car improvements to arise from other drivers, second because in the race you miss alternative tactics with the combination of two drivers. Finally you end up with less points and in case verstappen quits, top drivers are gone to other teams. In conclusion, chapeau to Ricciardo, in these conditions he did very well

In addition, still today is not clear and redbul also does not know well if gasly or albon are good enough for top team. In my opinion the difference in performance is not normal and these drivers don't improve

However, the FIA revealed on Sunday morning that Red Bull has replaced the floor on Albon's car to one of a different specification.

As that has occurred under parc ferme conditions, the matter has been referred to the stewards, and the normal punishment for the offence is for the car to start from the pitlane.

Red Bull and Honda have taken the opportunity to make further changes.

Albon has a new gearbox, which was expected after his rearward shunt, as well as a new turbocharger, MGU-H and MGU-H in his engine.

Is this a new updated floor or one of old ones

Spec 4 might even have the legs on mercedes, it certainly doesnt seem like they're losing anything to them on the straights. It's just that ferrari is on a different level entirely.

Merc can still run with more downforce. That is also a big advantage today. But indeed, Honda does seem to allow them to creep closer.

Looking at S1 times, they only lose to Ferrari, not that bad from Honda side. But anyway, work to do from both sides

watching this make me think that MB "runs" softer suspension settings compared to RBR. I believe the difference between MAX and HAM is only in sector 3 where it seems the latter can take curbs smoother. On the other hand that might be a product of higher DF levels allowed by more PU grunt

He only had worn softs available to him and Alex was too close, would of lost position to him.

The pace was appalling really maybe upgrades in japan on both pu and car will make difference.
