New TV service by f1racing.net

Post

Probably many of you have already noticed but f1racing.net has a TV service with all day programming and some clips, some of which are very interesting!
I´ve watched the F1, Superbike and Powerboat Challenge and it's amazing how after a certain point the F1 car simply "flyes away" from the other two competitors!!

I've watched a few clips...the only thing I don't like about the service is the amout of publicity! To start viewing the clip you still go through 2 or 3 comercials.....but in any case most of the clips are very interesting and they're worth the wait!!!!....though the publicity is quite stupid!!!

well I was quite amazed that the bike was able to keep up in the beginning with Button, especially when you think of the thread of a bike tyre against the two (tractioned) F1tyres.

The difference from a certain speed can be found in two reasons. First of all, downforce isn't really there at low speeds as there is little or no air moved. However, the faster you go, the more the wheels are pushed onto the ground, where the bike doesn't have this effect.
Secondly, accelleration of the F1 car was also bettered by hearable short gear shifts, but I guess that was the fact for the bike too.

I keep being impressed by that sound of an F1 engine... since I heard that in real I'm crazy about it :)

Well, all the bike's weight goes into the tractioned tyre at the start whereas in the F1 car that doesn't happen. So the bike has an advantage there=>more traction. I would also risk saying that the bike is less aerodynamic. Also the bike has less power to wheight ratio than the F1 car so when the F1 is acelerating more the bike is losing acceleration!
