Off topic..

Was reading the "United States Grand Prix – Preview" on the FP and got a chuckle at the first line "Formula One moves from Central to North America this weekend".

Someone needs a geographie lesson. Mexico is in North America and the main reason why they're part of NAFTA!

That company clearly has no class. Every team should avoid them at all costs.

ANDREA STELLA, Performance Director

“Today was busy. In addition to the normal programme to work on car set-up and tyres, we had experimental 2020 tyres to evaluate and also some specific tests we wanted to perform in preparation for next year. Overall, the sessions went as planned with no delays and no problems, and we’re very happy with our work today.

Good news...

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned here but according to Zak the pace problem in Mexico was a combination of an unideal race setup due Friday track conditions effecting data collection, starting on the soft tyres and "aero loss" which is probably a reference to the altitude.

yesterday Sainz looked super slow on those hard tyres again though. In the longrun he was about a second off the pace set by Renault, Toro Rosso or Force India

He was... He didn’t sound too optimistic after the practice sessions.

Lando just did a great lap in FP3... Pretty impressive.

It seems the car doesn’t like low temperatures... I have the impression that the car has behaved better when the temperatures are higher.

Hope they can take this performance into qualifying... 7 tenth to the next car int he midfield (RAI) wasn’t expected after practice yesterday.

On the radio after that lap Zak brown said that there was an issue that the car wasn't performing well when they had to raise the ride height for the bumps on this circuit. It seems that they were able to manage a workaround for that problem though.

I don't expect the order to stay as it is for qualifying though.

It is only practice, the top teams probably have at least another second in the pocket. Great lap from Norris though, shows there is potential in the car as he was slower than Carlos in sector 1. I hope we see more of this next year.
