Jenson deserved the win despite being 2nd? , they fought very very hard for a few laps just after the vettel destroyed the redbulls. And you can't accept Hamilton winning.
How did they favour Hamilton? everything points to the team preferring Button to win with their bizarre radio calls to Hamilton.
VES, RB and Honda destiny are 100% linked. They will win together or lose.JoeE wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 01:17Only way I can see HAM moving is 'if' Ferrari can beat Mercedes with raw pace. Like in all fairness to Ferrari, they have been runner up for many years now and when they do get it together, they just as easily throw it away so can't keep it up over an entire season.
Mercedes may reduce to supplying engines again if the rumour mill is true so I think its a higher possibility he will go to Mclaren and try to bring them back to the front. That would seal his legacy as the sports greatest. At least until the next one comes along.
However, Max could throw a spanner in all this if he gets a whiff of a consistent race winning car.
Yeah, i dont think Lewis will go to Ferrari....but we can never say neverJambier wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 13:25VES, RB and Honda destiny are 100% linked. It would be difficult for RB to find another engine supplier.
Regarding MAX, Mercedes will never put him with Hamilton.
And I'm not convinced that Ferrari wants him along Leclerc - in addition I don't see why it would be better to be at Ferrari rather than RB -
Then there is the Hamilton situation: He will stay at Mercedes with Wolff. Until Mercedes and Wolff retire, in that case I don't know.
Going to Ferrari, at his age , with 7 titles in the pocket, I'm not convinced.
But instead as many, seeing him go back to McLaren for 2 or 3 years, help them continue their progress and begin to grab some victory, this would be a perfect scenario, a classy move, and a good thing from HAM before retirement
But of course all this is down to the Mercedes situation. If they stay, nothing will happen except Ferrari that needs to replace VET for 2021
I thought all that at the time but I can't get my head around it. Why in hell would they want to back stab their star driver?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 17:11There is nothing at McLaren for Hamilton anymore. Whitmarsh, Dennis, Neale, all stabbed him in the back at different times already.
I think it was Norbert Haug of Mercedes that more kept Lewis there until that time. The other guys weren't genuine.
Not really back stabbing but more not trusting your WC driver. When the Mercedes management left at the end of 2008 things bit by bit fell apart. Dennis probably kept going back to the Philip Morris tactic to get the best drivers around in the car, an old(ish) fox and a (future) WC. In the case of Hamilton and Button, in the years where you have to rebuild your team after Daimler’s departure, you have two drivers fighting more with each other then working on a team goal.Wass85 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 17:45I thought all that at the time but I can't get my head around it. Jolle wrote: ↑09 Dec 2019, 18:22The problem I have with Ron Dennis is that he was the face of McLaren, but all the smart stuff came from Philip Morris until ‘96 and from then on from Mercedes until the late ‘00’s. Without them, McLaren is a midfielder and Dennis was nothing more then a bad sales man.

it's cool isn't it, and i do respect it. Still, he simply can't do it if Charles is faster, or even similar and taking wins away while Lewis and Max have their sweet wingman teammates. So it wouldn't amaze me if Seb has to let reality intrude at some point, tho he will fight as you say. He has to be ahead at the summer break i think, cos Charles is so young he's only going to get faster and more consistent, and he's in Seb's way and not going anywherePlatinumZealot wrote: ↑28 Dec 2019, 00:00This is why Vettel will not leave Ferrari without a fight and why he is there to stay over his dead body:
