In the meantime I see the others duke it out already. Verstappen is doing Mind Games with Hamilton, Renault is thinking how to beat Mclaren, Torro Rosso targets 4th place and Honda is talking about making strides. I see nobody is taking Mclaren into consideration. On one hand that is good cause we might surprise them more this year. In any case the target this year should be hitting more podiums and definately solidifying that 4th place and why not hit the third if we can.

All the engine sounds are good except Honda. Hope this year we will challenge RB for 3rd place.

Next year is totally different with Mercedes Engine. We will rock next year.

So these are the races where McLaren struggled in Quali last year, do we know what their weakness was?

Wow...the blue in daylight (compared to the renders) doesn't look like blue any more.

The picture above has been manipulated the white balance, making the blues desaturated, probably because there are two light sources, the LED on garage and the natural light, correcting the picture to the LED temperature probably made the picture bluish, so they desaturated the blue

I haven’t heard anything about what’s expected from the Renault power unit this year. Everyone else has said they’ve made gains.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

About a tenth/lap in race pace on the more demanding circuits, very little in qualifying mode.

So it sounds like reliability was the main focus over the winter, which isn’t a bad thing.

My only concern is the much-talked about gains that people seem to expect from Mercedes PU. That said of course reliability is something that required a step forward from Renault.

Of course, any Mercedes gains causing short term pain for McLaren this season will hopefully be something we can enjoy and look forward to from 2021.

Exactly! Hopefully the chassis gains will be sufficient to keep them ahead of the midfield, irrespective of power gains from the other manufacturers.

Mclaren are happy with that?

Better than nothing. Race pace gains are nothing to be downplayed, really. As someone said above, most of the work has been on reliability gains and running oils/lubes/etc, hotter so the cars can be packaged tighter.
