Seriously, what's the point in these posts with zero reasoning or argumentation? Especially "(hamilton, vettel out)" part :?: :?: I get that people try to predict some quali results based on pre-season testing, and those may hold some value, but then going on and predicting race retirements with zero possible knowledge or foresight is plain dumb.
Even as far as this wild prediction goes putting renault, alfa romeo and RP above both ferraris is just silly.

None of the top 3 teams, including Mercedes, showed their full hand in testing.

Vettel's quote at the end of the second week of testing helps to illustrate the point that Merc never really even pushed:

"If you look right now I’d say Mercedes is at the top just because, they are, every time they go out, fairly quick with ease whereas others, I think need to stretch a bit more."
Really this is all you can look for during testing. Who does just goes quick all the time and makes it look easy?

Somehow, I'm doubting the race will be on with spectators. Kind of expecting it to be called off.

I also think Bottas will have a very strong start into the season again.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I don't know how they came to that conclusion, but surely not because of some chicane cutting. In their first week's analysis they claimed Ferrari to be fastest in slow speed sections as well. It's not based on sector times, though. Otherwise Alfa Romero should have been up there as Kimi had the fastest S3 time by cutting the chicane.
Yes good point. It must be from gps, but with teams doing test session programmes the data simply don't mean anything, with whatever laps they chose

over the last few years, if I had a pound for everytime people said Hamilton be out, I'd be a millionaire. Why do people always wish for this.

They're personal wish lists full of driver/team preferences. Nothing more.

That's exactly it, it's wishful thinking rather than anything else. Perhaps people should specify separately what they actually THINK will happen and then what they WANT to happen. It's obvious this guy is a Verstappen fan who particularly doesn't want Hamilton and Vettel to be successful.

I like that mystery surrounding the first race, and who will be on top once everyone has gone full beans. I suspect it'll still be Mercedes followed ever so slightly by the rest, but the reality is that at this point no-one other than the teams themselves truly knows what's going to happen.

Yeah 15.7 if we estimate for max engine power, becomes a 14.8 + .4 for the difference between C5 and C3 tire, for a potential best lap time of 15.2. They showed their hand.

For Melbourne I can see Hamilton capable of a 1:20.1, I don't think we'll see sub 1:20. I expect RB 16 to match that lap time.

Frankly I don't care if you believe me or not, I'm not here to convince you, we'll let the facts sort themselves out.
ill be waiting patiently to see you proven wrong :D :D :D
I mean you can check my track record. Ttrust me though, by saying something so petty, you can rest assured you'll never hear the end of it if I'm right.
I mean I know your reputation, I was just having a go at your arrogance bro... hence the smileys...

Fun is pointless.

I get it.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

My top wish is for the tyres to degrade really really badly! Take everyone by surprise and force lots of stops, create some huge deltas between cars and make it a great test of skill and judgment

Then my next wish is no safety cars!! so the winner is the best on the day not the luckiest

Until the P3 it is always a pridiction that based on a bit wishfull thinking. Maybe a little bit what we have seen from testing too.
I think we can expect a Mercedes powered car dnf because of the reliability issues they had at testing. Albertpark is a bumpy track which can cause that issue to happen again. But of course we can not say for sure this will happen and happen to Ham. Who knows maybe they already sort it out.
I also expect merc powered dnf but not from merc itself, because they're doing very high level job
And I wish and expect redbull to fight with merc in race not in q. I believe that everyone wish to see close fight. I think we just diverse at our wish of who will be winner at the end.
