Absolut! Have faith! I think something can be salvaged here.

And working on our side is the fact that no single party will want to be handed the bill for this mess! Or take responsibility for the disaster.

If they just continue with the race, no one becomes the goat!

Friday at present going ahead as normal. Despite a confirmed case of coronavirus for a team member and a full paddock yesterday, and sources saying race will be off, FIA has "had no instructions to tell you otherwise" when asked if media should attend the track today #F1

Call it a conspiracy theory if you will, but as someone else mentioned above I believe the FOM, FIA and Liberty want the Victorian state Government to cancel the event, why?

Perhaps the FoM/FIA have an insurance policy or caveat in their contractual agreement to event organisers/promoters that should an event be cancelled due to an act of Government blah blah blah that all parties are entitled to be paid out by said government due to loss of promotion/event.

Again something doesn't feel right that they're sitting on it, as if solicitors/lawyers are working out a way to get out of it without losing a lot of money...as Lewis Hamilton said "Cash is king"

Of note, that race you are watching marked the end of a 53 race podium streak Ferrari had going at the time! Also first race that Schumi did not end up on the podium since the 2001 Italian GP! Such good days back then for Ferrari.

I’m sure that’s what is going on... There is a lot of potential damages in dispute right now, from people been refunded their tickets, to the cost of the event itself and potential damages to be paid to the teams... A lot of “fine print” in the contracts that are under dispute.

As someone who has been infected and lived through the virus, I can understand why they'd cancel the race. The symptoms are not fun to live with, not deadly for the most part, but definitely not fun. It takes over 2 weeks to beat the infection. In those 2 weeks you'll have a bad cold, fever, nausea, diarrhea, breathing issues. Not fun, the first 3 days of symptoms sleeping is all you want to do but can't because you have intense chills. I had to have the heater on and I live in South Florida, the temperature never gets under 22c. Then you think you're getting better and it comes back with a vengeance. I had to spend the day in a sauna just so I could breathe in round 2. It's been just over 2 weeks and I have my appetite again, I lost nearly 4kg(down to 60kg), lack of energy, shortness of breath.

The race should have been cancelled last month, I feel it is now too late, because the virus has up to 10 days incubation period. Those who are going to get sick have already been exposed. If team personnel have been infected then they'll start feeling it by Bahrain latest.

they seemed to think it was a great race. But generally Oz has been about the atmosphere more than the racing. If we get the race, i think it'll be behind closed doors and quite weird

It was never cancelled. Not officially.

So yes, it's still on for now. I actually think we might get some type of a race out of this weekend.

As of now everything is going forward...there is no point in doing just the free practice and pack up

They have to figure out what they are going to do pretty quickly I would think.

It's about 4 hours before FP1 right now, and in theory, crowds of people are going to start showing up at Albert Park expecting to see something.

They need to tell them "stay home" or let them in when they get there, otherwise there could be a real mess on their hands if crowds gather outside entrances but can't enter.
