Thank you Wazari san. I saw a news that new celendar is ready and starts with bakü gp at 7th june.
And question.
What do you think about affects of this delay. I think it is an advantage for mercedes which has reliability issues. Will it benefit Honda too for more mature Engine or something else can be developed more.
or is there a bad affect of being lack of track data
Also very curious. Is this delay in RBR and Honda’s interest or is it an Mercedes advantage
Red Bull and Honda seemed more prepared and eager to get out and start the season strong. Mercedes dodged a bullet not having to race with their questionable engine and rear suspension, and now they'll have more time to find reliability and modify their rear suspension.
that rear suspension is very clever

maybe even more clever than the dual axis system in reducing lap times

Interesting. In what way is it different in function from the previous rear suspension? P.s. is it really you mr. Wache?

More turbulent air to upset following cars?

Race Setup

We stay in Austria for part two of our first triple header of the season, lining up this weekend for the newly named Styrian Grand Prix. The races are going to keep coming thick and fast, with 7 races over the next 9 weekends still ahead of us. The opening round was a hard watch for the team, with both Aston Martin Red Bull Racing cars coming to a halt on track with different electrical issues. Countermeasures are being put in place and we hope the team will have an all round stronger weekend with problems addressed. Daniil Kvyat, in his Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda car, was just a few miles from home when his rear left tyre let go and he pulled up at turn 1. This left Pierre Gasly as the sole running Honda powered car, driving a solid race to come home P7 and claim 6 points for the team in their debut race as ‘AlphaTauri’. This second weekend will be a chance for all teams to test and learn from last week, with consistent running at the Red Bull Ring providing a good opportunity for back to back data comparison. We'll be looking for another good result with Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda and to put some all important points on the board with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing. Uncertain weather is forecast for the weekend, so the team will have to be ready to adapt quickly as we look to better last weekend's unsatisfactory result.

TOYOHARU TANABE
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, HONDA RACING F1

Although we had a tough race, it was great for Formula 1 that racing returned last weekend and that all the safety procedures put in place resulted in everything running smoothly and safely. This weekend, we race at the same track - the first time this has happened in the championship's history. It means that our data is up to date and relevant, although one factor that could affect our work is the forecast for rain and even thunderstorms over the coming weekend. The problems on the two Aston Martin Red Bull Racing cars in the last race were both electrical, but caused by different issues. We have been analysing both these matters together with the teams and we have put countermeasures in place for this weekend. As our power units do not have any damage caused by those issues, Max and Alex will use their same PU's this weekend. This weekend, we must aim to finish the race with all four cars and achieve a good result with them.

It seems like both Red Bull and Honda got their performance targets wrong for both the chassis and power unit, and have missed the mark quite a lot compared to what is actually required to compete for victories in 2020 (nothing wrong with being P2 in WCC though -- that is still very, very good!!).

Such confidence to start the season seems misplaced now!

Absolutely not, had the first race taken place in Australia and the season underway, we would have been 9+ rounds into the season. Mercedes rear suspension was definitely not ready and they would have had to deal with their gremlins as well. Hindsight is 20/20 but to say the confidence is misplaced is wrong as the situation afforded Mercedes months to correct their issues.

Also to add, PU manufacturers had to shut down and cannot upgrade performance throughout the season as originally planned, and Red Bull haven't had real world track running and are going based on theoretical numbers and most sessions have been wet or unable to carry out proper evaluation. Red Bull would have been very strong at the beginning of the season and would have been 9 races into developing the car instead of 2.

I made the same comment here a few days ago that Mercedes indeed was helped by the delay to sort out their PU issues. But lets not go overboard and portrait Red Bull Honda as victims here. Both have had equal chance/limits to their development since pre-season testing. Mercedes have just aced it, not without its own issues (Austria1) but none the less aced it compared to all competition. Let's respect that, fair play to them.
