Maybe to draw some further markings for pit stops and/or for pit stop practice.
Definitely weird and probably over engineered if that is its purpose.

Some tape on the ground would do just fine at Racing Point but this is McLaren everything must be perfect!

Which is bad ass good for them.

I am pretty shure i saw in an onboard in FP 2 that the left boomerang broke on Norris car after maybe 20 min, so hopefully they can fix it for later.
