The championship is between Bottas and Hamilton, so this wont make sense. The RB16 is way too slow to challenge for the title.

Potentially, yes. Honda was chasing their own party mode, which was nothing but excess oil burning. With Mercedes providing all the guidance to FIA, Honda seems to have been affected with the additional fuel monitoring sensor.

That's totally possible. It completely ruined Ferrari pace, but on the other hand will ensure an easy P2 for RBR but cementing Merc dominance. Practically worst case outcome for spectators.

I can not follow the logic of the track limits rule. You are on or off. Why all the hassle of some part on the stripes etc rather than if part of a tyre touches the white line it is out, as it is in other sports? As others have said, you are not OK if only half your car is in the wall.

Not surprised one bit by the 0.5+

I am however surprised Hamilton has not sorted out his qualifying woes since last season. He will likely lead after the first lap, but it’s going to really start playing on his mind if he can’t get on top of that one lap pace. Just imagine if somebody actually fast like Max was his teammate.

Hamilton is OK. Austria is one of his bogey tracks. Good effort by him. I would say he can afford to lose one of the first two races.
Silverstone x 2. Hungary. Monza. Spain. belgium All are to his strengths. It will be another dominant year.

Thats what I was getting at earlier. Look at those Ferrari powered numbers.

That doesn’t happen by chance across the board like that. It kills the argument that they were playing fair and almost completely confirms the notion that they were up to something.

If I was Ferrari, I would put all recourses into engine development. They need to make big improvements before engine freeze.
No sense in going for upgrades this season anyway. They are over 1 and a half seconds slower than Mercedes and that’s on one of the shortest tracks.

I’ve the feeling Ferrari has the weakest engine now. How’s that even possible? Have they really only put effort into improving their engine trick in last couple of years? What a totally riskful move. Still can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed.

BTW, if Ferrari cheated with their engine in 2019 (and not customer teams) , why then Haas and Alfa lost the power as well now? Or they also had cheated engine?

Very disappointing by RBR. Hyped to no end by the media and even within the team, to basically be 0.5s slower on such a short lap (8 corners) is worrying.
