Explained very well in this video even if it’s in the context of racing simulators

video/picture evidence appears quite clear I'm afraid :(
If he does get a 3 place penalty, I hope McLaren goes with a maximum pace strategy for him than a damage recovery

A completely unnecessary and unforced school boy error on a track where the car is performing well.

Little harsh. Can only think of 1 big error in his whole F1 career. It's not ideal but I'm sure he will learn and lots of the weekend still to come with chances to make up for it

Early days yet ofc, but looks like 2020 for Lando is shaping up to be what 2019 was for LeClerc. Has the confidence/experience to be very fast when he is on top of it but undoes it with a bunch of unforced errors (losing P2 last week, penalty this week...)

I am a huge admirer of Lando but on a weekend when the car is performing so well these kind of unforced errors are unacceptable. I know he is a quick learner and hope he learns to never take things for granted

A little harsh a 3 place grid penality for a yellow flag infraction in Free Practice. 20 minuite reduction of practise time would have been more appropriate.

We didn't really start well this Weekend. Unacceptable mistake from Lando but I think he will learn. We are 5 tenths from the top and despite the practise results in my opinion when it matters we will be in front of Racing Point. It's time for Carlos to save the day though despite the 3 place grid penalty I wouldn't write off Lando yet. There isn't any reason to push the engine. We will do that in qualifying. On another note those stewards sometimes have no idea how to judge. Aparently destroying someone's race is only worth 5 seconds and ignoring a yellow flag costs 3 places.

What do you think after two sessions?

Race pace was right on top of RP and Ferrari. Biggest question is how much we have left in the tank because looks like RP put it all out there...I think P4/5 still possible (before penalty)

I believe it is still possible. Last time in A1 Ring we were faster than Ferrari and Racing Point. I don't see how that can change this weekend if you count the fact that Mclaren is not only making strides each year but making strides in each Grand Prix. We will outdevelop those shameful copycats and clear the midfield.

True but usually McL is pretty quick out of the box because their systems and processes are strong while others take some time to catch up. So maybe RP found some time on setup? OTOH, Carlos had setup issues last week which he now seems to be on top of. Ferrari has new bits but don't seem like they are working too well...will be interesting to see feedback on McL's new bits. Wild card this weekend will be RBR -- that car looks like a real handful to drive, even in the dry.
